A contractor named Mister Williams telephones Commissioner Gordon. He tells him of a colleague named Professor Hammil who has invented a machine that can command moving vehicles via remote control. Gordon grows concerned that Williams' research plant may become a target for criminals and offers him police protection. Williams does not feel that it would be necessary however and declines the offer.
